So much we gave as two
It carried inside my heart
I hope we’d never part
Oh, in time
Nights would go by
I'd close my eyes
And start to cry
Memories, oh
So deep within me
I felt I had it all
I was happy for awhile
You touched a feel in me
Could this really be?
It was a moment in time
I thought I’d have this all my life
The months passed
I went away
Without you, I couldn’t stay
Where is he?
Is all I hear
(So hard) It makes it so hard to deal
Pieces of me had gone astray
Your shadow lingered every day
Endlessly missed
The lips
I once kissed
So the pain begins
And tears start to burn
And all the love you gave
Took away with me
But you left me so low
How could you leave me so low?
I don’t want to hear
What you have to say
And all the feeling is drifting away
It was a moment in time
I thought I’d have this all my life
The moon’s cold light
Fell from the sky
The night you left
And said goodbye
Everything changed
Nothing stays the same
I don’t want to hear
What you have to say
And all the feeling is withered away
It’s very hard to bear
And I don’t want to stay our love is drifted away
This album is utterly astounding - funny, moving, upbeat and more infectious than lice. I cannot stop playing this over and over and over - it's like sunshine with spikes. All the tracks are amazing, but the one that has me jumping about the most, is Unicorn in Uniform. Music to crash your car to :) Lalo
The name of this album perfectly encapsulates everything I love about Elizabeth's musical output from the Darlings to Allo Darlin' to these precious songs: an unyielding optimism that is never naive, and by being so, becomes wildly contagious. Some music tells you that "everything will be ok", but her music actually makes you believe it, even when the lyrics hint at doubt. Michael Feck
Sweetly melancholy bedroom pop is rarely as actually vulnerable and personal as it is in this Australian artist's hands. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 21, 2018
Soothing guitar tones and perfect indie pop melodies with atmospheric female vocals. A dreamy offering from the Houston up-and-comers. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 17, 2017
