It was a new romance
Night at the club
And that’s where I saw you
And I saw your glove
Love
The fog was thick
I moved to the music towards you
I put my hand on your hip
And we dipped
Tripped
Painted a pentagram
On your bedroom floor
You never noticed, 'cause
'Cause you never came home
You really knocked me out
With your gloomy eyes
And now, I’m in love with you
Come on and dance
I’m in the mood
Spinning in a circle
Like I do
Come on and say
Say the words
Say "I love you"
Took a walk in the park
Well after dark
I wanted to buy some pills cause I was sick over you
But it made things worse
When I knock on the door, oh please, let me in
I’m walking up the hill and I’m spinning
Lock me out or lock me in
Oh, my head is still spinning
Lock me out or lock me in
Oh, my head is still spinning
This album is utterly astounding - funny, moving, upbeat and more infectious than lice. I cannot stop playing this over and over and over - it's like sunshine with spikes. All the tracks are amazing, but the one that has me jumping about the most, is Unicorn in Uniform. Music to crash your car to :) Lalo
The name of this album perfectly encapsulates everything I love about Elizabeth's musical output from the Darlings to Allo Darlin' to these precious songs: an unyielding optimism that is never naive, and by being so, becomes wildly contagious. Some music tells you that "everything will be ok", but her music actually makes you believe it, even when the lyrics hint at doubt. Michael Feck
Sweetly melancholy bedroom pop is rarely as actually vulnerable and personal as it is in this Australian artist's hands. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 21, 2018
