Over over over over over over over over
It’s all done now
Don’t think that she’ll ever call me back
She put me down
Thinking she should make the first attack
She’s gone and still
I’m quiet
We’re too far to fail to speak
I want your love, why can’t you see it now?
I’d dream of you if I could sleep
The crazy hours I keep to say hello
And you’re so far away
And it’s hard to bear
When I want you everywhere
Over over over over over over over over
Love and light
Travel through the phone wires from her house
Old questions asked
Hanging in the air and in my mouth
Oh, well, she says
Goodnight
We’re too far to fail to speak
I want your love, why can’t you see it now?
I’d dream of you if I could sleep
The crazy hours I keep to say hello
And you’re so far away
And it’s hard to bear
When I want you everywhere
Sorry to say that I was a fool
No one’s after me girl, I was after you
I was just thinking of any excuse
To get you over
This album is utterly astounding - funny, moving, upbeat and more infectious than lice. I cannot stop playing this over and over and over - it's like sunshine with spikes. All the tracks are amazing, but the one that has me jumping about the most, is Unicorn in Uniform. Music to crash your car to :) Lalo
The name of this album perfectly encapsulates everything I love about Elizabeth's musical output from the Darlings to Allo Darlin' to these precious songs: an unyielding optimism that is never naive, and by being so, becomes wildly contagious. Some music tells you that "everything will be ok", but her music actually makes you believe it, even when the lyrics hint at doubt. Michael Feck
Sweetly melancholy bedroom pop is rarely as actually vulnerable and personal as it is in this Australian artist's hands. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 21, 2018
