In the face of being alone
I’d take the tears and the sorrow
I’d stay at home
If I thought that you were the one (the one)
I’d take a moment, the weekend, I’d stay at home
I’d give you these things
All of my hopes and my dreams
Without an intention to steal
Your heart just for me
It’ll be how it should be
Without ever knowing, we’ll see
‘Cause you (you)
Keep on roping me in
And you just wont see it to the end
‘Cause you (you)
Keep on roping me in
And you just wont see it to the end
In the face of being alone
I’d take the tears and the sorrow
I’d stay at home
If I thought that you were the one (the one)
I’d take a moment, the weekend, I’d stay at home
I’d give you these things
All of my hopes and my dreams
Without an intention to steal
Your heart just for me
It’ll be how it should be
Without ever knowing, we’ll see
‘Cause you (you)
Keep on roping me in
And you just wont see it to the end
‘Cause you (you)
Keep on roping me in
And you just wont see it to the end
Your heart just for me
It’ll be how it should be
Without ever knowing we’ll see
‘Cause you (you)
Keep on roping me in
And you just wont see it to the end
‘Cause you (you)
Keep on roping me in
And you just wont see it to the end
It’s you (you)
This album is utterly astounding - funny, moving, upbeat and more infectious than lice. I cannot stop playing this over and over and over - it's like sunshine with spikes. All the tracks are amazing, but the one that has me jumping about the most, is Unicorn in Uniform. Music to crash your car to :) Lalo
The name of this album perfectly encapsulates everything I love about Elizabeth's musical output from the Darlings to Allo Darlin' to these precious songs: an unyielding optimism that is never naive, and by being so, becomes wildly contagious. Some music tells you that "everything will be ok", but her music actually makes you believe it, even when the lyrics hint at doubt. Michael Feck
Sweetly melancholy bedroom pop is rarely as actually vulnerable and personal as it is in this Australian artist's hands. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 21, 2018
